EPL: Can’t cry about it — Arteta on Arsenal’s 1-1 draw at Fulham

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said they cannot “cry about” the 1-1 draw at Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday.
Arteta, however, insisted his team deserved to take all three points.
Raul Jimenez opened the scoring for the hosts in the first half before William Saliba levelled in the 52nd minute.
Speaking after the match, Arteta said: “Gutted that we didn’t win it. We fully deserved to win it. That’s the quality of the opposition, so you cannot cry about it. We generated all the chances but it’s so difficult to attack.”
Arsenal had 70 per cent possession and VAR denied Bukayo Saka what would have been a late winner.

2026 WCQ: Super Eagles must beat South Africa to qualify — Chelle

Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle says it is important for the team to beat the Bafana Bafana of South Africa if they must qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Bafana Bafana will host Nigeria in a matchday eight encounter in September.
Hugo Broos’ side lead Group C with 13 points after six matches, six points clear of Super Eagles.
There are four rounds of matches left in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Chelle admitted that the Super Eagles are condemned to win all their remaining matches.
“It’s an obligation we win in South Africa, but the most important match for us right now is Rwanda in Uyo,” Eric Chelle told SCORENigeria
“South Africa are a good side, but for that game we cannot afford to allow them play.
“But first we have to beat Rwanda at home and then we will focus on the game in South Africa.”

EPL: I’m focused on my players, Rashford is not one of them – Man Utd boss Amorim

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has declared that Marcus Rashford is not one of his current players.
Amorim made this known at his pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League game against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.
Daily Sun reported that Rashford fell out of favour with Amorim at Manchester United.
The England international eventually left Man United to join Premier League side Aston Villa on loan for the remainder of the season.
Rashford has been doing well at Aston Villa so far, scoring a brace in their FA Cup 3-0 win against Preston on Sunday.
Asked about Rashford ahead of Man United’s clash with Nottingham Forest, Amorim was quoted by Fabrizio Romano as saying: “I am focused on my team and my players. Rashford is not my player at the moment.
“But of course I am happy when our players are playing well on loan.”
