Why Mohbad’s autopsy report is delayed – CP
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fayoade Adegoke, revealed that the autopsy report for late Nigerian artiste, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, is being delayed due to a toxicology report.
He revealed this at the state command Headquarters in the Ikeja Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday.
Adegoke said the command was awaiting information from the specialists abroad.
“Regarding the Mohbad case, the toxicology result is not ready and it is what is delaying the autopsy result. We have to get the report from the US.
“You can recall that during the End SARS, the laboratory built by the Lagos State Government was destroyed. That is why we had to go to the US to conduct toxicology,” he stated.
Last year, the Lagos State Police Command said the autopsy report of the late singer, conducted two months ago had not been given to them.
The passing of Mohbad on September 12 stirred up a wave of debates and discussions in Nigeria and beyond.
As a result, the police and investigative team to uncover the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.
Mohbad, a rising star in the Nigerian music scene, died at the age of 24.
Mohbad was laid to rest in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State the day following his passing. His unexpected early burial left his fans and Nigerians puzzled, as it deviated from the usual customs.
Following his demise, there was a growing demand among Nigerians for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his passing.
The Nigeria police force promptly initiated an official investigation into the incident, and exhumed his body from the grave in Ikorodu for a thorough autopsy.
The police confirmed an incident involving Mohbad and his childhood friend, Owodunni Ibrahim, also known as PrimeBoy. Mohbad lost his life as a result of the injuries sustained during the altercation.
The then-Lagos Police Commissioner, Idowu Owohunwa, also named an auxiliary nurse, Ms Feyisayo Ogedengbe, as the prime suspect in Mohbad’s death.
The CP disclosed that Ogedengbe, who was invited by Mohbad’s friend, Ayobami Sodiq aka Spending, to inject the singer at his residence, administered three injections believed to have led to the chain of reactions that eventually led to the singer’s death.
The commissioner said Ogedengbe was unqualified to perform the role of a home nurse and did so in a non-clinical environment.
