Determined to sustain the modernisation of Nigeria’s transportation sector, the Minister of Transportation, Sen. Sa’id Ahmed Alkali, is pushing for the implementation of a National Transport Data Bank.
Alkali said the National Transport Data Bank project will bring substantial benefits to Nigeria, including improved transportation planning and policymaking, enhanced efficiency and cost management, increased revenue generation, and reduction of highway crimes.
He believed that the project will foster innovation and promote collaboration among stakeholders in the transportation sector.
A Public Private Partnership project, Alkali said that the data bank was discussed in a recent meeting with an Egyptian delegation from the Asia-Arab Investment Company Limited, a specialist in data integration and management.
The Minister encouraged the Institute to harness available opportunities to ensure the project’s successful implementation, aligning with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
