The Board of Directors of Nigerian Breweries Plc-Nigeria’s foremost brewing company has announced the appointment of Jaap Albert Overmars as Non-Executive Director of the company.
In a notice to Nigerian Exchange Limited(NGX), signed by the Company Secretary/Legal Director, Uaboi Agbebaku, the company stated that the appointment takes effect from October 25, 2023.
“Nigerian Breweries Plc hereby informs the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the investing public of the following change in the Board of Directors arising from the Board Meeting of the Company held on the 25th of October 2023,” part of the statement reads.
Overmars brings over 21 years of experience in accounting and reporting, commercial business control and financial operations management in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods industry to bear on the board as Non-Executive Director.
Currently, he is the Senior Director Finance (Africa/Middle East/Eastern Europe region of Heineken N.V) and is responsible for leading the finance strategies in the region through delivering sustainable growth and value creation. Prior to assuming his current role, he was the Senior Director Finance for Heineken Mexico.
According to the statement, the Board is pleased and glad to welcome him to the team as he adds his wealth of experience, exposure and knowledge to the board and the company.
Following from this appointment, the board will now comprise of A. Ighodalo-Chairman; H.Essaadi (Dutch)-Managing Director/Chief Executive; Mrs. J. Anammah; Mrs. A.O Aroyewun; S. Hiemstra(Dutch); Mrs. N.O Nwuneli, MFR; Mrs. I.M Omoigui Okauru, MFR; J.A.A Overmars(Dutch); R. Pirmez(Belgian); I.A Puri; B.A Wessels Boer (Dutch).
