27-year-old man defiles 7-year-old girl in Bauchi

27-year-old man, one Ibrahim Abdullahi, is in the police net in Bauchi State, for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl (name withheld) in Itas Gadau Local Government Area of the state.

The victim, according to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in charge of the state police command, Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, was deceitfully lured into a toilet at Central Science Primary School in Itas town by the suspect and subsequently defiled.

The police spokesman, a Superintendent of Police (SP), informed in a release he signed and made available to journalists in Bauchi on Thursday that the incident was reported at the Itas Gadau Divisional Police headquarters by one Umaru Yusuf on May 13, 2023.

According to the PPRO, “On receipt of the report, the team of detectives led by the DPO visited the scene and took the victims to the General Hospital Itas-Gadau, while the suspect was arrested.

During interrogation, the suspect voluntarily confessed to have committed the offence.”

He added that a discreet investigation is ongoing, after which the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution upon completion of the investigation.
