Former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has alleged that some politicians are using the old naira notes to buy votes in Kaduna State.
In a tweet on Saturday night, the former governorship aspirant in Kaduna State, said people were being paid N1000 to N2000 to vote for a particular party.
He wrote, “The old Naira notes that were made a legal tender by the Supreme Court became the tool for vote buying in Kaduna State.
“People, mostly poor women within the metropolis and beyond were paid from 1k to 2k for their votes”.
The Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai was one of the governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC who dragged the federal government to supreme court, demanding the return of the old notes.
