Help, I Can’t Share The Same Prison With Criminals – Abba Kyari Cries Out
The suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, disclosed this while urging an Abuja Federal High Court to review his bail application initially rejected
The embattled former Head of the Intelligence Response Team, IRT, of the Police, Abba Kyari, has alleged a threat to his life in the Kuje Correctional Facility.
Kyari maintained that he is ”not safe sharing the same correctional facility with criminals.”
The suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, disclosed this while urging an Abuja Federal High Court to review his bail application initially rejected.
Kyari’s remark was contained in a document presented to the Abuja Federal High Court by his lawyer, Nureini Jimoh.
The document reads partly: “At the centre, the applicants who were head and deputy head of the Intelligence Response Team of the Nigeria Police Force met stiff resistance, attack and open threats to the lives of the applicants by series head (sic) of criminal gang that they had busted.
“There is no Correctional Centre that the criminals that have been arrested by the IRT under the headship of the applicant in furtherance of their constitutional and statutory duties as Police Officers cannot be found and there is a high likelihood of threat to the lives of the Applicants.”
In March, the court had ordered that Kyari be remanded at Kuje Correctional Centre pending the conclusion of his trial.
He was arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, on February 12 and was arraigned on March 7 over allegations of drug trafficking.

APC’s attack on Obi, a rehearsal for 2027– LP stakeholders
A coalition of the labor party stakeholders and professionals known as an alliance for all labor party stakeholders and professionals has described the recent vicious attack on Peter Obi, as a desperate attempt to deter him from attempting the 2027 presidential election.
A press statement issued by the convener, Dr. Blessing Elaigwu, on Wednesday indicated that the attempt to Obi was even more disheartening that the APC spokesperson ignored all opportunities given to him by the Television program anchors to apologize to Obi and Nigerians.
The coalition, said that no Nigerian alive today, except perhaps those in the inner circle of this administration, can deny the effect of the record-breaking poverty and inequality that has become the signature of this administration’s rule.
“We are short of words to describe what Mr. Morka was thinking when he again issued a fresh threat to forward a list of 400 Nigerians to security agencies in a brazen attempt to scare citizens into silence.
He and his ruling party- The APC, are only exhibiting signs of what we already know- they are scared stiff of what fate awaits them at the ballot box in 2027.
“Nigerians, most of who have become victims of APC’s policy of institutionalized impoverishment of the populace, are warming up for the opportunity to vote for this ruinous party and all it represents.
“The APC and the administration it currently leads should be made aware that impoverished Nigerians are tired of the lies and propaganda of this government and are prepared to borrow a leaf from their Ghanaian cousins to liberate our country and our economy from its current decadent state.
“Morka and those in the ruling party who share his belief in building an authoritarian empire where citizens’ right to free expression is considered a threat to the state should be prepared to expand our prisons and recruit more wardens because Nigerians will continue to speak out against bad governance”.
