The Founder of The Messanger of Hope International Foundation, Chinwe Ogbujah has noted that Nigeria’s greatest strength as a nation lies in her diversity.
Ogbujah gave the charge on unity and hardwork as a nation when she spoke at the Power Shift, Abuja held at the Musa Yar’adua Centre on Thursday, April 28.
In her speech, titled “HOW FAR, THUS FAR – Our Shared Humanity” the IT expert ram home her point, using an analogy of an orchestra.
She explained that an orchestra has a number of instruments playing at the same time and with different pitches but they all seek harmony to be able to produce the melody and harmony that is required. She added that seeking Unison instead of harmony could lead to noise.
In her words “We are like an orchestra… We have been attempting to make things work the wrong way, seeking Unison instead of Harmony. We need to harmonize our diversities.
“This is the issue we have in Nigeria, more than 250 ethnic groups, we have been attempting to have a Unison in an orchestra. That is why we continue fail. The day we realize that what we seek is to hamonize our ochestra, then we will know, the larger the orchestra and the ability of the conductor to hamozise, the better the sound, the better the quality of music it produces. This is to say that our diversity is our greatest asset if you have a conductor. What we are seeking now is a conductor. Hamony makes small things grow and lack of it makes it decay. Our nation continue to decay because in all our diverse ethicnity, we have refused to find a way to hamonize them.
“Nigeria needs harmony. To harmonize, we need a conductor that can direct the difference in our country to create a pure, refined and hamonized Nigeria.”
The HOD, Media, at FWC Champions FC, therefore, urged youths to continue to grow in capacity so that when Nigeria becomes the country of our dream, they will be able to make effects.
“Grow in the dark; your day will come: when you will be required to produce what you mined in the dark.
“Arise fellow Nigerians, let us build a nation where peace and justice reigns.” She added.
The Power Shift conference was convened by its founder, Nonso Nnamani to sensitize young Nigerians on the need to be actively involved in politics, carrying the right attitude and changing the narrative.
