The Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, has vowed to crack down on the Biafra and Odudua Republic promoters and other agitators in the country.
The self-styled Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho, in his separationist agenda, had called for the cessation of the entire South West from Nigeria, declaring the region as Odudua Republic.
Similarly, ex-Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo, had renewed cessation agitation by forming the Biafra De factor Customary Government for the entire South-South region.
However, the Chief of Army Staff, while delivering a lecture during the first Commanding Officers’ Workshop 2021 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, said the Army would deal decisively with every form of security threats confronting the nation.
He said: “The Nigerian Army under my leadership would remain proactive and jointly work with other security agencies to decisively deal with threats facing the nation.
“The Nigerian Army under my watch remains resolute and is poised more than ever before to decisively deal with individuals or groups that threaten the peace, security and stability of our great nation,” he vowed.
