BREAKING: New Senate President Emerges

Senator Ahmed Lawan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday emerged as the Senate president of the 9th Senate.

Lawan beat Senator Ali Ndume with total votes of 79 to 28.

Clerk of the Senate thereafter administered oath of office on Lawan

Ahmad Lawan, a Senator from Yobe State, has been elected as the President of the Senate.

Lawan has secured more than 55 of the 107 ballots cast on Tuesday.
