Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, is on track to break Rashidi Yekini’s goal scoring record.

Osimhen is now six goals behind Yekini, after he scored twice against Gabon in a 2026 World Cup playoff match on Thursday.

The Galatasaray striker had wasted a chance to tie the game at 1-1, but in extra time, he scored two difficult goals to win it. The first goal was his 30th for the national team, while the 31st was the cherry on top.

This comes after he scored a hat-trick in Nigeria’s 4-0 victory against Benin Republic in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match.
