It was as if I was was hit by thousands of angry and hungry bees when without blinking of an eye, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, announced N100 Million as fee for nomination and Expression of Interest form for Aspirants interested to contest the 2023 Presidential ticket of the ruling Party.

The announcement can at a time when millions of Nigerians cannot afford to eat two square meals a day, battered and shattered economy, swelling unemployment rate, runaway inflation, and millions of Nigeria students are at home due to pronged ASUU strike.

The most surprising issue was that the staggering amount of money was announced under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari who had in 2015 raised alarm that the N25.5 Million fixed by the then APC as an opposition party for the purchase of Presidential Form was exhobitant. I remembered vividly Buhari saying that he could not afford to pay for the nomination form but had to rely on friends and associates.

However, 7 years down the line, the same Buhari is supervising the sales of the APC Presidential Form for N100 Million, and Governorship N50 Million.

For me, APC has fleeced the country so much that their Presidential Form hits the rooftop. APC has on Wednesday simply concretized the foundation of corruption in Nigeria at its National Executive Council, NEC, Meeting. It is like the party is intensifying the rage to legalise election rigging. With this, 2023 election is now do or die affair.

APC Presidential ticket is N100 Million, In the same country where Police and the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, will harass youths who have just 1million in their account. If you dare pay N100 Million as a youth (even though there is 40 percent discount) to contest for the 2023 Presidency, be sure that EFCC will come after you as a Yahoo Yahoo Boy.
Be sure that the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, will arrest and detain you for peddling drugs.
I think this is a trap against the youths.
This country is not fair to the youths.

Comparing the APC nomination forms with that of the main oppostion party, I think that of the PDP is more rational and saintly.

Below are the comparison…..

APC State House of Assembly – N2million as against N600,000 for the PDP

APC House of Reps – N10 million as against N2.5 Million for the PDP

APC Senate – N20 million as against N3.5 million for the PDP

APC Governor – N50million as against 21 Million for the PDP

APC President – N100 Million as against N40 Million for the PDP
