Osimhen excluded from Galatasaray’s squad for season opener

Victor Osimhen will miss Galatasaray’s Turkish Super Lig opening game of the season against Gaziantep on Friday.

Osimhen completed a permanent transfer to the Turkish Super Lig champions last week.

The Nigeria international was omitted from the squad that travelled to Gaziantep for the game on Thursday.

The 26-year-old is yet to attain full fitness after resuming pre-season training late.

Osimhen scored 37 goals and registered eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions during his loan spell with the Yellow and Reds last season.

The feat made him the highest-scoring foreign player in a single campaign in the Turkish Super Lig.
