Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has apologised to Nigerians for the team’s performance against Sierria Leone on Friday.
The Eagles lost a 4-0 lead that they got in the first half, ending the 2022 African Cup of Nations qualifier match in a 4-4 draw.
The match was played in Benin city.
“We made costly mistakes,” Musa said in a video shared on Twitter, “we sincerely apologise and we promise we will fix things and get a win in Sierra Leone.”
Alex Iwobi had a brace, while Samuel Chukuweze and Victor Osimhen scored one goal each.
Nigeria still leads group L with seven points having won two matches and drawn one. Benin Republic, Sierria Leone, and Lesotho are the other teams in group.
